The Core French program at St. Patrick High School uses the AIM Language Learning approach in which gestures are used as a tool in learning. The program is presented through the use of plays that incorporate a scaffolded approach, beginning with the most commonly used vocabulary and expressions. In grade 9, the students will complete one play and will complete two in each of the remaining courses (French 10, 20 and 30) At the conclusion of French 30, students are expected to understand the written and spoken word. The aim of this program is to have the students expressing themselves in a spontaneous manner. It is a fun and energetic way to learn, requiring student participation at all times.
