École St Patrick High School Grad 2019:  Important Dates and Times

 

Friday, May 17, 2019: Grad Retreat Permission forms due

Thursday, May 23 - Friday, May 24, 2019: Grad Retreat - buses leave at 12:30pm

Monday, May 27, 2019:  

 
  • Dry Grad permission forms due (grads and guests)

  • Parents call main office to sign up for Dry Grad chaperoning shifts

Tuesday May 28, 2019:  

 

3:45pm  Grads and escorts: mandatory Grand March practice

 

Grand March tickets available in office (possibly earlier)

 
  • Each grad family will be assigned four reserved floor seats.  The location of these seats will be drawn randomly. Ushers will escort families to these seats.

  • Additional tickets are available but on a first come first served basis.  Grads will be able to buy additional tickets ($5.00 each) at the main office.

 

Wednesday May 29, 2019: Mass rehearsal (mandatory)

 

3:45 pm:  grads meet at St. Patrick Church for quick practice

 

Friday May 31, 2019: Grand March/Prom

 

6:45 pm         Grads gather and set up in Rock Area for "grad only" picture scheduled for 7 pm.  We would like families to wait in the gym and just have one person in the Rock Area if they want to take pictures.  Immediately following picture, grads and escorts will line up for entrance into gym.

7:00 pm: Doors open to public

 

8:00 pm: Grand March (followed by reception in Weledeh gym)

 

Between 9:30 pm and midnight: Draw for plane ticket to Edmonton.  Grad must be in attendance to win. Slideshow @end.

 

Saturday June 1, 2019:    

 

Grad Mass: All grads expected to be in attendance.

10:30 am: Grads gather at church to line up for entrance.  

11:00 am: Mass begins (there is an expectation of appropriate dress (ie) no flip-flops and no running shoes.  Dress to impress!)

 

Grads and Family Lunch: After mass, lunch served in Weledeh gym. All grads and their families welcome.

Convocation:

1:00 pm: Grads gather in Rock Area of school to don gowns and line up for grad ceremony entrance.  

 
  • Grads should be wearing something that will not be too hot under the gown.  They also need to remember to wear something that looks good with the V-neck and a gown that goes to the knee.  

  • There is an expectation of appropriate dress (ie) no flip-flops and no running shoes.  Males are expected to wear long pants under their gowns.

  • Those who arrive late risk not being allowed to participate in ceremonies.

2:00 pm: Convocation begins, will probably run until 4:00/4:30.  

 

Dry Grad: Yellowknife Community Arena

7:30pm - 9:00pm: Dry Grad Family Games (Grads, escorts, and family only)  


9:00 pm: Guests of grads arrive for Dry Grad (all guests must be signed in by 10pm)

Dry grad ends at 4:30 -5:00 am
