Learning Assistants
Angele Cano
Learning Assistant
Hi there! My name is Angele and I began at ESPHS in the fall of 2020. I graduated from Carleton University with a BA in English (2008) and from University of King's College with a Bachelor of Journalism (2009). I first moved to the NWT (Hay River) in April 2011 to work for News North and 'retired' from journalism in 2014 when I fell into teaching piano, realizing how much better life is when kids and young adults are around. They're the best! I also worked with a great group of students at DJSS in Hay River in 2019, and at the Hay River Territorial Park since 2015, spending summers in the woods - my favourite place🌲🏕. I love supporting our students in uncovering their resilience, becoming independent learners and standing in their power. I feel lucky to be part of these years of their lives! I'm blessed to have a network of friends and strong bonds with family, here in the north and across the country. St. Pat's is a great community of students and staff and I'm happy to be a part of this team :)

Caitlin Herninger
Learning Assistant
Meet Caitlin, a vivacious globetrotter with an insatiable wanderlust. Her extroverted nature effortlessly weaves her into the tapestry of cultures she explores, forging lasting connections with people of all ages, especially children. Her passport is a testament to her well-traveled soul, but her heart belongs to pasta, which she savours in every corner of the world. Eager to harmonize her life, she's embarked on a musical journey, learning to play the piano, and her thirst for knowledge extends to her need to learn Spanish.
